Position Title
Postdoctoral Researcher

Bio

During his MSc and Ph.D., Hillel focused on almond breeding and genetics by using wild almond species as an important genetic source for introducing new important characteristics into ongoing almond breeding programs. He also focused on genetic research and underlining the genetic regulation behind those essential traits. In his postdoc at Steven Knapp lab, Hillel dealt with understanding the genetic nature behind stolon's production (runners) in the Octoploid Strawberry. He aims for cutting-edge genetic research with the most advanced genomic tools and knowledge. His main goal is to turn this knowledge into an applied product through genetic markers for breeding and new, better varieties for future agriculture.
